RuneScape's official legacy servers 'a major part' of business

  • Old School RuneScape, a version on the browser-based online multiplayer game that preserves its original gameplay, has exploded into an integral section of developer Jagex's popular game, product manager Matthew Kemp said. In a write-up published on Cheap RuneScape Gold LinkedIn, Kemp details the way the officially run legacy server found success with both players with the MMORPG as well as developer.
RuneScape's Legacy Mode launched in 2013, months after Jagex launched a major reworking with the game called Evolution of Combat. Kemp recalled a group of longtime players asking the studio to offer them the option to maintain playing the game in their pre-updated form.
"Even though we had been quite certain around the initial surge of interest these servers would get we wished to test this and we all asked our players with RuneScape Gold for sale a poll whenever they would play," he wrote. "When half a million of the customers said they would like to play it... we form of had to complete it."
